I took this photo the night my brother, my mom and I were decorating our Christmas tree. It was taken as a close up for my holiday theme assignment and I’m really impressed with the way it turned out. I had to take a lot of the same shots to try and get the main subject in focus and the branches out of focus. In Photoshop I just brightened it up a bit so it stood out more, nothing drastic or anything. The ornament could’ve been in focus a little more, but who’s perfect, right?

Your picture look like the ones you can put in the magazines. I really like it. It is not focus enough, but that makes your picture kind cool.

this is a good picture i agree. I wish it had a better focus on the ornament though. It has a good composition with the ornament up close and the blurred lights in the background. Great color scheme, it represents the very warm fireside feel of Christmas. I like this idea, just try to get the focus correct next time.
What a wonderful christmas card pic. I love teh color nice and neutral and the different textures really helps the composition. great use of thirds and depth of field. great job!!

This is a nice composition. I actually took one very similar to this. Yours came out brighter than mine, giving more attention to the ornament, which works well. This is a fun holiday shot. I would just suggest taking a few more pictures to make sure your focus is sharp (but you already mentioned that), and try taking some vertical shots so that the crop doesn’t crowd the ornament on the top and bottom.

I love Christmas and this ornament looks really good. I like how it’s so focused and then the tree is a little bit blurry.
The close up of the ornament against the blurry background really makes this a nice shot. The lights in the back are great, but I think that the ball could be just a little sharper. Great shot! Shane-SPHS
I think this is a nice picture but I'm not that impressed with the focus of the picture. Your idea and composition of the picture is good but it could have been better. I really like the holiday mood it sets and overall it is a pretty good picture just work on the focus next time!

the picture is out of focus but the overall composition is good. I also like how this person used linear perspective to show how the image continues. also the background is really out of focus. The overall picture is good though because it will have many uses but the image needs better focus next time.
I like this shot because of it's vignetting of the ornament, the very composed use of the rule of thirds, and the deeply saturated colors.
