For this week, I took a picture of a windchime that my teacher made from computer parts. It's hanging outside the door, and it was a sunny day. The original picture was too dark to tell what any of those were, so I adjusted the levels to make the dark parts black. And make the lighter parts darker a little also. I put a filter on it i think to make the colors cooler. I really like how this picture turned out.Monday, April 14, 2008

For this assignment we were to take pictures of "still life". I believe this was the best shot of all the ones that I had. I took many different shots, and I am most proud of this one. The original I think was in color, but I think it looked better as a black and white picture. I zoomed in because I thought that it looked better if you didn't see the whole plate of fruit. I especially like how there is an apple and a pear in focus in front. And how the other pieces are in the background. The only thing that I don't like is how the pear's stem is so prominent.

Technicolor Transition

I took this photo in class during a demonstration. I took the photo into Photoshop and auto-leveled it and auto-colored it. Then I de-saturated the whole photo and used the history brush tool to bring back the color of one of the apples and the two sides of the green mat the plate was on. The two of the apples that I didn’t bring the color back in are out of focus and I wish I could have gotten them in focus. Overall I think this photo came out alright.Tuesday, March 11, 2008

I took this photo in hopes of trying to make him mad, but as you can tell, it did the exact opposite. I like the fact that part of his head is out of the picture because I think it makes it more interesting to look at. Mainly all I did was change the picture to black and white and then mess with the shadows. Enjoy.Saturday, March 1, 2008

I chose to put this picture on the blog because I think it’s unique, I did some work on it in Photoshop obviously, but I accidentally lost the original copy so all I had to work with was my black and white copy but I think it turned out ok. I like the look the black and white gives it but I also like the extra something that the lights give it.

Vitamin P

I took this photo around Christmas time when I came down with strep throat. I needed a photo for my close up assignment, so I set a few things up to get a good foreground, middle ground and back ground. I applied the rule of thirds and didn’t do anything in Photoshop, and I am happy with how it turned out.Lead The Way

I took this photo one day while I was walking around Bradley Park. I saw this area and thought it would be a great shot; I manually focused the camera on the closest vertical post to me to get the background out of focus and the foreground a little out of focus. Overall I think this photo came out pretty good, I used Photoshop to saturate the trees because there was some washout in the top.Fenced In

Shadow of Me
I really like this picture because I haven’t messed with it at all. Everything you see was done with the camera. For this picture I used a long shutter speed and jumped in and out of the picture to give me that see through effect. I really wish I would have moved a little to the side though, because I don’t really like the door going down my face. But over all I really like the way this picture turned out.Tuesday, February 12, 2008

I like this picture because I am a fan of macro/close-up shots. I tried to get the main focus on the barb on the fence. This is the original picture. I have not messed with it at all. I really like the way the color turned out. You almost have to double check to see if it is black and white or color.Sunday, February 10, 2008

I took this picture on a nice day in June. I was in the yard just taking pictures of different things. I thought these flowers would be cool to photograph. I like this one; I chose not to crop it or anything. Because, I was trying to get the flowers to be symmetrical to each other, that’s why the flowers are in the center.

I absolutely love this picture because of the reflection of the car in the water, and the extra work I did on it in Photoshop. There was a light pole in the picture and in the reflection, but I used the clone tool to remove it, and I think it improved the photo a lot. I also turned it B&W and used the history brush to bring back the blue in the car and the reflection.

I took this picture in October around the corner from my house. My brother had just gotten off of the bus and was walking with me while I was taking pictures. He kept picking up leaves so I decided to take a picture of him picking one up and well, this was the result. I edited it in photoshop by changing the color to a more golden/sepia tone, other than that it’s my original photo.Friday, February 8, 2008

I took this picture one day when I was walking around taking pictures for our Autumn Theme’s assignment. Since I haven’t really been satisfied with many pictures I’ve taken lately, I went through my old folders to find one to post. I forgot I had taken this one and decided to use it. I made some adjustments in Photoshop but not much. I just used the auto levels and played with the brightness and contrast, rotated it to make it straight and cropped it. It’s not my best but I’m satisfied.Thursday, February 7, 2008

I took this photo on the first snow day of the year. Luckily the sun was able to come out for a short while and I was able to get this shot. The only things that I did with photoshop were crop the picture and auto levels to get the sky a little more blue. I am happy with how it turned out and how the rule of thirds applies.
